Aktel Launches EDGE Internet
Mobile operator Aktel (TM International) has recently launched EDGE internet service in Bangladesh. Earlier it was providing this service using GPRS technology, but considering the fact that GPRS is very slow and customer were depending on mobile internet services more and more.
So far I've heard the speed is good, not less than 10 kBps which is I think fine.

Aktel is offering 50% discount on their internet usage charge.

To set internet on your AKTEL dial *140*7# and follow instructions. Call 123 for details.
Note:
* Valid from 1st May ‘08 till 31st May ‘08

Aktel is a very useless and cheat company because it advertises various greedy offers and cheat the people . Recently I have got Aktel GPRS but it's speed is very slow . They say that they have best network but everything is cheating .

I took aktel Internet connection 1GB limit on Thursday. But on Monday the 1GB is finished.I was surprised that I didn't download anything only mail browsing and howcome the 1 GB is finished. I am really shocked and annoyed. The advertisement for internet using for 1GB 3 GB is false. They count on bytes rather and cut the amount regarding that. It is very expensive and they will face serious complain if it goes in this way.

ReplyDeleteHello friends, i read all of your's comments. Now i tell you about my experience of using edge or gprs. Aktel gprs is very very slow then any other operator in Bangladesh. Gp and city cell provides high speed on internet. Banglalink is slower then Gp and citycell. I got 32kbps speed on internet by using gp and average speed is 15-20 kbps. On Bl 10-15 kbps, on citycell 15-20 kbps. Aktel provides slow speed then others operator in Bangladesh. One day i was trying to connect internet with my aktel connection. When i search a comment in google it took up to 45 sec. So, It's really really bed.

I took the 1 GB Pakage and it will expire on 03rd August, i did a lot of song downloading, and it also gives good speed, and it still have about 100 mb left.' So try to work out with Aktel. recently GP internet speed got very slow :(. I am only getting 5-8 KBps maximum while i used to get 10-25 KBps few days ago from same device same place. So, my request to GP to solve this problem ASAP otherwise you will lose customer faith.

Generally GP connection is fast. Some where Banglalink connection is faster than GP.
Speed depends on subscribers density in an area. Before buy any monthly package, you can try using day package in your living area. You can test your internet connection speed by this site www.speedtest.net.
If you are going to use limited data package, such as 1GB, 3GB etc. There are some information you should know.
1)data package =Total Downloaded Data +Total Uploaded Data
Remember everything is data such as browsing, hearing online music. Etc
2)Operating system itself downloads updated patches silently by default. There are many programs in your PC which may download updated patched silently. Such as Adobe PDF reader, Adobe flashes player, Antivirus software, office suite and others.
3)Virus affected PC may transmit or download data automatically.

IF you travel more, use GP with unlimited. If you use gprs modem you will get max 114.5kbps and if you use EDGE modem you can get max 230kbps. Most of the cell phone acts as gprs modem, only some high quality cells have edge facility

Aktel Connection is not good. Connection is not stable in many areas.
Banglalink:

Banglalink connection is suitable for unlimited user. Because it is cheap.
Speed is not bad. I tested at Dhanmondi. Average speed is 180kps (kilo bit per second) or 22KB (kilo Byte per second).
Note: I used post paid connection + EDGE Modem.

Teletalk : It’s connection speed is not good at Dhanmondi. But in Uttora you can get average 15KB (Kilo Byte per second). Customer support of this company is very bad.
Note: Teletalk GPRS does not support all china mobile set.

It’s speed is good. But its price is high. Its upload speed is 1/4 of download. This may become problem, if you use voice chat. Because in voice chart upload and download speed should be equal for best quality.
CityCell:

It has slower speed with unlimited package and faster speed with limited data package.
Faster speed connection is very expensive and it is not available in all districts
I never used Warid and Banglalion wimax connection.
Please find which connection serves faster connection in your area and enjoy it. I think it is a smart and good idea.

Browsing speed is well,there is no dout about it.But it is a great pathetic that when we activate any package then proper rate is cut from the balance but remaining balance is venished!I want the proper steps by the athority to avert this problem and return the money as soon as possible.Otherwise it will reduce the subcriber of the company greatly....

hei guys.....i use banglalink unlimited internet package and use Nokia 6120 classic as a modem.....believe me or not i got download speed 80 kbps on my mobile and on pc it was 80-110 kbps . i should mention that i use Download accelerator plus as download manager. So don,t run after edge modem and low class internet providers. use EDGE class-32 mobile as modem and have fun. if Nokia 6120 classic is costly to u then u can buy Nokia 2700 classic. it's also EDGE class-32 and u can buy it only 5000 BDT.
