Discussion about WiMax in Bangladesh: BanglaLion to start WiMax services soon

BanglaLion is starting WiMax services in Bangladesh from 1st of June, 2009. Now the tension grows,

How will be the service?
What will be the speed? Will it be dedicated?
How much affordable it would be?
Whether it will be available in our area?
What value add it will do in terms of speed, affordability & availability when comparing to existing services (GP/Citycell internet and other Internet services)?

Although the packages have been published, the speed and necessary cost failed to satisfy many of us who were eagerly waiting for its successful operations in the country. Just to reiterate below is the packages,

BanglaLion WiMax Service Package:
1. Home User/Individual for Tk 600/Month
2. Corporate (5-10 users) for Tk 550/Month
3. Corporate (10 users above) for Tk 500/Month
4. Day User (Max 3GB) for Tk 45/Day
5. Night Package (12 AM to 9 AM =9 hrs) for Tk 300/Month

Updates:

31-May-2009:
BanglaLion is not going to start WiMAX from 1st June, it may take 2/3 months more to start officially, this is due to technical issues and setup. However they expect to go with test-run from 1st June.

On the other hand Augere is having frequency issues and then can only start trial after AUgust.

128kbps and 64kbps lines are FREE FREE FREE!!!!!!
    ============================================================
Dear Brother and sister it is not the age of text chatting and email sending now Internet reached such stage where people use internet to play online game, watch real time movie, transfer files in GB size, streaming HD video, enjoy interne tv,video chatting. So 128kbps and 64kbps lines are history because people of the world start counting their Bandwidth from MB where we are still in KB.Even India,Pakistan and Srilanka providing Bandwidth MB in cheap rate .Some corrupted people of our country want to take us in stone age.It is a conspiracy against our country. If you search google you will find thousands of Isps of world even in Asia providing 128kbps and 64kbps service free.Because New ISP do this to promote their business.People who use internet to read newspaper and send email they are use this lines.Unless 128kbps and 64kbps lines are useless now.So my request to all of you don't promote any new ISP without bigger benefit.Unless we will be nowhere in international competition.May Allah save our country!
    Good-by.

    FREE 128kbps and 64kbps (DSL,Cable,wirless,dialup,wimax)service worldwide:

  2. 128 kbps lines are not enough. Atleast 512 kbps@ 600 tk required. We can use 128 kbps easily from Local internet providers. Why we should use such a high technology for this lower service..?

    Ok then dont use it.

  5. Did anyone get an offer from Banglaion or Augure to test out wimax during the trial period?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Any one of you can tell me "was there any explanation from Banglalion regarding the discrepancy in the press conference(128Kbps) and their add in Ittefaq 128kbps.

  7. 128kps is nt gud enough is shud 128kbs instead....how can we watch tv in dat speed....???

  14. Please note, My friend said even after the trial is over, the 5 Mbps 10 Mbps, and 15 Mbps corporate package lines will NOT be Available until 2010-2011. They will start with 1 Mbps, 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps later this year for corporate ONLY. Still waiting for more information on the residential access. Will let you know.

  15. 128kbps is no enough for us.we get it from our local broadband.............we need 512kbps at 600 tk.

  18. I called the Banglaion and they said in august or september they will start new packages. 512 kbps for 2000/month and 1 mbps for around 4000/month.

    That is total bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @ sunny

Thats too much, wonder what price Agure will offer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ BB

Ofcorse it is too much who will pay 4000/month for internet? Outside bangladesh people are using 2 mbps+ connection for very cheap price. After all these hype about Wimax this cannot be tolerated. Are they out of their mind? T

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is outrageous!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Grameen's disconnection problem is killing my head, this is totally unacceptable. I will go with bdlion's 128 kbps wimax instead. Shared broadband lines do give good speed but line remains down most of the time.

Here some people have mentioned about Bracnet. Do they provide wireless broadband ?

    ReplyDelete
  23. @BB
do u know about residential users, how much speed they'll get
y are they providing such high speeds for corporate users only, we the ordinary people deserve faster speeds too

  25. main prospect of wimax, what was discussed in seminars and advertised in forms of many, was targeted for consumers and this should be. i was believing the purpose was also the same.

in bangladesh hi-speed internet for corporate can be available easily, there are now hundreds of companies and if you pay you can get hi-speed to support your need for your company. but who will serve the same at consumer level? off-course not at the same speed of corporate, but at least 1/2 mbps. then whats the benefit of wimax for consumers, only 128 kbps at a rate of 600 taka? that is or more is already being provided.

wimax is not meant for that, never. we should really think of it - whats the value it'll add. waiting for next 6 months or 12 months shouldn't be an excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  26. what i think is that wimax operators are targeting consumers who will want the addon features like timeshift tv, ip phone.

just because they will be providing internet connectivity at 128kbps doesnt mean they cant provide high quality tv, because for that you dont need to connect to the internet, just connect to their servers which at current rate can be connected to at around 17mbps.

  28. this is hilarious. the only hope for us was SMILE. and now Smile (Eastern Link ISP). Smile started off with 1MBPS 2MBPS and 4 MBPS package. at reasonable price. i took 2 MBPS at 3000 Taka. and i got constant 229KBPS. i was downloading and playing CSS under lan at the same time without any lag.

we need an ISP like Smile again. this is all BULLSHIT. after 10 years we still get 10KBPS. where in India it is much much cheaper ! what is the Government doing here ?

a big portion of the vote came from young noobs who fell for the trap "Bangldesh Digital Hobe" crap. anyways the Information and Technology minister should have been someone who understands this sector. not some farmer straight from the village.

    ReplyDelete
  29. sopa,
providing service for high-quality tv or voip should be next priority for this country or may be the 2nd thing on the row. how much a high-speed internet is required or expected or how much the other ones? whats the value a high-speed internet can add and ip-tv or ip-phone can't? with rolling-out of wimax, people expected about speedy internet much than ip-tv or phone, because thats the current first requirement. this should have been realized by providers.

  30. mehedi,
you can try using banglalink if,
    1. you are in dhaka city
    2. bl's network is good at your location

bl has started giving edge internet in dhaka and in my place its good indeed. i was using citycell zoom, that i had stopped recently and seeing bl's performance, so far it turns good. i'm using nokia 5320 mobile. if you check this, let us know the performance.

  31. What happened to simle?

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ mr91535
how much speed you get from banglalink. Is it like gp ? Does it disconnects like gp or aktel ?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I just called in banglalion (in this number :01819689002)
they said gov will reduce the price of internet, then we will get 64KB @ 600 tk. Not sure though , but it is expected.
And iptv will be available from next year.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Its May and July 1st is just around the corner, then we shall see Banglalion's performance as an ISP. I was really looking forward to the introduction of WI-MAX in BD, but their currently announced packages are really disappointing. They should at least offer 1 mbps(i.e.128 KB/s) for Tk.600 and should have other higher speed packages for higher price.

    @Silent Killer
if what ur saying proves to be correct thats also acceptable, I mean 64KB/s is better than a mere 16KB/s line... let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I also guessed something like that .Now there is lots of talking going on about reducing internet price. So if that happens then Bangalion and other surely will have to reduce the price.

    ReplyDelete
  36. dude, the internet market in bd isnt big enough, wait for it grow and then you will automatically see prices fall, how many pc's are there in bangladesh? i wonder why so many people are after speed? what are you going to do with so much speed? most of the ineternet users in bd like anywhere else are the browsers i.e. people who use the net for checking mails, slight browsing, etc

that is the market most internet walas target not the people who are download crazy, its not like most education institutes of bd offer online education that people would need great speeds, most of the people who download a lot download porno, hey thats the most available content on net, the rest of the downloaders usually concentrate on music and movies which doesnt take that long to download.

and price comparisons with the us dont even get me started, the us market is saturated in north america and europe

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anybody uses Banglalion trial Home user internet? If uses, what is the speed? It is better from existing Citycell Zoom, Grameen,Banglalink, Warid etc.? Why govt. not authorized 3G License in our country, it will also help to increase internet speed in user level.

Hi, How are you all people? Feeling exciting about WiMax? Well Me too! (was!) After the WiMax home package i saw now i am very disappoint about that. I think Bangladeshi WiMax is an another lower grade package like our own Submarine cable. Which have great potential but less Kinetic. But that's another matter.

I use GP-INTERNET at almost constant download speed of 26 KiloBytes per second. My GP Package P2 24/7 with an EDGE enabled mobile. Monthly charge (850+15%VAT) = 977.5tk (with VAT).

So tell me why should we the GP users migrate to Bangla Lion instead of Grameen Phone? I think not to migrate. & why? let's calculate

*first Bangla Lion (1. Home User/Individual for Tk 600/Month) speed with 128 KiloBits per second = 128/8 = 16 Kilo Bytes Per second. [1Byte = 8bits] So after a month you can max download
    16KB X 60Second X 60Minutes X 24Hours X 30Days = 41472000KB
    .'. 41472000KB/1024KB = 40500MB/1024MB = 39.55GB
    40500MB/600tk = 67.5MB/tk

    *second GP-INTERNET P2 Package 977.5Tk/Month speed with 26KB
    max monthly download
    26KB X 3600Second X 24Hours X 30Days = 67392000KB
    .'. 67392000KB/1024KB = 65812.5MB/1024MB = 64.27GB
    65812.5MB/977.5 = 67.32MB/tk

So the summary is, you can download files upto 64.27GB @ 26KB speed per month with GP-INTERNET or you can download files upto 39.55GB @ 16KB speed per month with Bangla Lion. Same MB/tk.
    But GP win with Speed.

So it's not what we wanted from WiMax service. NEED MORE SPEED.

It's up to you all. Try Bangla Lion. Don't forget to tell us (GP users) your opinion about Bangla Lion. We are eagerly waiting for your feedback. Ya 13 Days to go ;) See you all then.

  40. is this banglalion going to another warid? i mean i heard before the launch that warid was going to give out n72's at 10,000 taka and what not

    ReplyDelete
  41. I slightly disagree with your calculation. You showed that GP is providig 26 KB speed 24/7, but it is not a true statement. I have used GP internet in different areas of Bangladesh including Dhaka and nowhare I got continuous 26 KB speed. It is not even average. Sometimes I get 26 KB download speed but most of the time it is around 15 KB and sometimes it is 5/6 KB also. In my opinion GP is providing us on an average 10 to 15 KB speed if you consider speed variation in different areas. Another serious problem we are facing with GP is diconnection. Without any warning the line is just gone. If you think of downloading a big file while you are sleeping, it will hamper your sound sleep. In many occation while I was downloading at night time, the next morning I found that only 20 to 50 MB has been downloaded and the connection was disconnected during the night. If BD Lion can provide a interreption free connection (I am hopeful as they have announced that the modem is free from any softwre for connectivity) it will definitly be a plus point for them. If they can provide that I will leave my GP connection without any hesitation.

    ReplyDelete
  42. gp doesn't always provide 25 KBps and not in all the areas. avg speed as Reza told is like 10-15 KBps. for many users its even worse.

    ReplyDelete
  43. sorry, i'm not sure.

BB, if you can reply. thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. bd internet market is growing fast. more importantly need for speed and stability has grown too much, even if i consider slight browsing or emails or downloads, people often gets tired with current bw and its performance. if anyone offers 1 Mbps with 600 taka, people would just jump to grab it. let’s not waste arguing on how internet is being used here, there are many usage apart from browsing, emails or downloads - and diversity in the usage is really growing.

    ReplyDelete
  45. WiMax is just like any other last mile service. You have to ask yourselves how they'll manage the total network. It's not about the last mile service, it's about how bandwidth is managed to bring fair usage to each and every subscriber. Better get a reliable and tested wireless ISP, like X-Net's Corporate Xpress and Residential Play! service.

    ReplyDelete
  46. On the contrary. Bangladesh does not need an ISP like Smile who is not true with their intentions. They purchased so much bandwidth to "hide" illegal VoIP activities which is making a lot of money for them. Internet to residential subscribers was literally just a sideline business. Now that they got caught and had to terminate their VoIP business, how do they plan to pay their excessive bandwidth and still make profits? It's only a bit more time before they fold up and close down.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Big mistake for Banglalion. WiMAX is all just hype by the chip manufacturers. Mobile Internet will not be a mass-based service in Bangladesh anytime soon. It's not even used extensively in highly advance countries. They'll just lose a lot of money before they can even get started. Sorry Banglalion , bad timing.

  49. You got that right! "Discover WiMAX at 128kbps" ?????!!!!!??????

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sure, that's possible...you can hit 100Mbps in your LAN simply because it's within a controlled environment. Let them try doing a bandwidth speedtest outside of their network, say, the US.

    ReplyDelete

Can anyone make sure whether BTCl really providetrue 1 mbps coneection? I mean what is their performance?

    ReplyDelete

Perhaps the same reason why people buy reliable vehicles (for example),for reliable service. You buy a crappy car, you get crappy performance. So why do experienced Internet users doubt low monthly fees...because you'll expect the same low service.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Banglalion's 128 kbps wimax can be a good choice for those who are having grameen's disconnection problem. Actually Banglalion has nothing to do with price and speed of their service unless govt. do here something. We should not blame banglalion as the govt. is the main cause of high rate of our internet. And banglalion already said if govt. come forward to reduce the price, they will also reduce thier package price and increase bandwidth or launch high speed packages @ lower cost. So now we can only hope that in the upcoming budget govt. will lower the cost of internet so that we can get high speed net @ low cost. If this thing fails all our hope will be lost in oblivion for sure, the power of wimax will be of no use for us then.

But at the moment we cannot be sure if banglalion will even keep thier promises for their 128 kbps packages. That they will provide dedicated service (if so every user will get minimum 16 KB or higher - sounds fair to me looking at the price), interruption free service (if so no disconnection problem like GP will occur even in rain or in thunderstorm), other services (IP mobile, IPTV, triple play etc.) - if they can provide all these services with no problem, then I think lot of people will switch to them as they will provide good value for money (all these will cost only 690 tk per month - I m not sure about this though). And if you are thinking about speed, we don't actually have any other good alternative right at this moment. All ISPs are providing almost same speed at same cost and none of them are providing hassle free service (GP's disconnection problem, broadband's line down problem...). All we have to wait for the decision that will be taken in the budget.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think GP is the best..Atleast more developed then BL.. I thought B.L would provide us by givin minimum 128kbytes/s speed of conectivity bt itz only 16 kb/s..We don't need such a damn...I've GP conection n i gt minimum 20kb/s daily through using it..Who says that there a connecting fail problem is? After 12Am i usually gt 30kb even sumtimes it rises 35kb/s..Everyday i use to download full movie in avi format into my mobile n i do dat widout any problem..Sometimes some movies are in 1 part n i have to download more than 150mb bt no problem isn't occured during downloading..Its true that sometimes gp's downloading speed go down bt it s rearly happen..I'm a gp user n i hope gp will the best..1st june we cn gt da provement..Ok tc

if government reduces the price F-Lix users will benefited first. F-Lix has the latest equipment and insane marketing plan. they already have a network covering the whole country. hope this will shade us some light.

  74. totally agree with Reza. try GP Internet in Uttara. ITS HORRIBLE. my friend bought that USP modem. he gets max 20KB and that is also at night.
in day time he gets 15KB. sometimes 5 to 8KB.
consider yourself lucky cause u get 26KB. most probably u live in Shunderban.

Wi Max will help where u dont have your regular "isp" like in remote village or just near Dhaka where u dont have fiber optic broadband.

what we want is a better ISP than GP Internet.

Surely they introduce other high speed packages because the all the things they have said in their website will need very high speed connection. So just wait and meanwhile carry on with you connection as I will too.

So this Whole WiMAX this is pointless to get excited about and I asked if I can pay to be part of the Trial Based Users, BanglaLion said no. Meaning I will have to stick to My GP-Internet and my BDcom Line for now..

  85. Wimax...Banglalion...hi-speed internet...so much chit chat going on around.
I pay my ISP tk700/month nd with the speed i get (7 to 8 kb/s) it takes me roughly about 4 hours to download a 100mb file. But whats driving me nuts is the break-ups in connection.
Power failure, server down, hub malfunction,
even a strong wind breaks-up the connection!!!
Think how u feel when u have downloaded 140mb of a 150mb file which is
not resumable...nd then SNAP!!! Well, the good thing(!) is we, the Bangladeshis r
satisfied so easily. Hopefully Wi-max won't be the same, or....will it be worse ???

  89. just for a try, u can use banglalink's internet. i recently switched it over citycell (citycell was also good). if u r in dhaka, u should get a good speed of around 15 KBps if the network signal is good. its on EDGE in dhaka city.

    ReplyDelete
  90. sumon,
banglalion's 128 kbps is equal to 16 KBps (kilo-byte), thats already being provided by other operators like GP, Citycell or BanglaLink in Dhaka. if u want more speed, then u have to go for more cost - just like any other ISP. whats kind of work u usually do?

    ReplyDelete
  91. how will u use wimax on mobile? i'm not sure about it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. dark being:
not all the people are happy with gp, if u get 20 to 30 kilo-byte per second, u must be a lucky man. banglalink on other hand recently has started edge in dhaka, so far the speed is on avg 10 to 15 kilo-bytes, earlier it was on gprs. so don't let him out of bd, let him settle here for some more time.

gp has breaking connection issue, thats for many users. as u r a lucky man, u might be out of this. however its improving.

  110. oh you all the people die!(BTRC and it's all chamchas)you guys just don't want us to enjoy fast internet.

all these elitist people control these important institutions like BTRC,.

i know people in European countrys get 2 megabits = 256 kilobytes for only 8-10 euros = 1000 BD taka.

and these elitist here take 30000 taka from ISPs for 1 megabyte bandwidth.

No matter what technology 3G or Wimax comes to Bangladesh if these elitist who control the pricing of bandwidth don't change their attitude or thinking or unless decides to lower the bandwidth price to like 1 megabyte = 1024 kilobytes for 5 thousand TAKA or so we just won't get fast internet connection like 1 megabits or 2 megabits no matter what.

BTW the reason i am calling these people of BRTC and whatever other government institution which has power to decide regarding bandwidth price elitist because they want to make Internet bandwidth a luxury service just for rich and corporate companys/people.

these BTRC people always say their is not enough demand for bandwidth in Bangladesh and say only 20% bandwidth is utilized of the total allocated bandwidth of submarine cable to Bangladesh.

but these people don't ever say or admit that if they lower the price of bandwidth to a level which i mentioned before then all these unused bandwidth will be bought by ISPs/Mobile ISPs and provided to the users at a reasonable/just price and the users will definitely benefit and the whole 100% bandwidth of submarine cable will be utilized in no time.

so the real problem is with these elitist people who control and takes decisions to screw us users again and again.

How can u get 30 to 35KBps(280kbps) with EDGE In Bangladesh? As i Know Currently a latest EDGE(Not UMTS thats support 384kbps) Device Supports maximum 247kbps. what kind of device u r using? let us know. I want to buy 1. bcoz with sonyericsson pc 300 i got highest 184kb(23KB) (thats only for 7 min.). more over internet not only means downloading some video. its means communication - that means both way. & gprs/edge supports half of ur download speed. Does any1 knows the upload speed of So Called Banglalion?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Mehedi447

I agree with u about pricing plan of govt. but how much govt will reduce?
Currently if u buy BW from govt it will cost 25000/= per 1mbps(NOT MBps).

Let us think about an isp with 5mbps bandwidth. it will cost them 1,25,000/=Taka per month just for bandwidth. More over They have various establishment cost, Variable cost. it seems the cost of per mbps stands as more then 40,000/= taka.
for 5mbps its 2,00,000/= taka. if this isp commits 128 kbps per client how many client they can surve with 5mbps? simple 1024/128=8*5=40 user. What should be the rate per client? 5000/= takaper month.

Dont worry if u know about network management then u may know there r some facts that saves us all. i m not mentioning those facts.

people who are asking for 1mbps @ 600 taka per month they r nuts as current situation. but their issue is right. that speed should be at that price.

if the point is disconnection problem; No wireless network is reliable. Then u should go for a optical fiber link. Anyway as my opinion bangla lion is cats meao like warid, teletalk - much expectation less reward.

    ReplyDelete
  115. No offense. but BTRC is driving technology of Bangladesh at a crisis point.
for a moment dont think like a subscriber think like a tech guy of a company.

At first they gave isp licensee. then they gave mobile & PSTN operators permission to provide internet. isp organizations suffered. then they provide wireless wimax licensee. now both isp & mobile/pstn companies are sufferer. Then they eye washed with providing IP phone licensee to isp operators. Now mobile companies are much sufferer. what next? 3g to other company? R they nuts? If u force 5 person to serve 1 person all the six will suffer. our position is like that. they should maintain some rule how all the different companies will act with same product. Think mate our country is a very small market for internet. all the existing isp will fall. All local cable network business sector will collapse. a huge tech community will be jobless. what will they do?

    ReplyDelete
  116. @ BB

As i am concerned about internet, its not only getting the connection only but also service after it. as previous experience about TNT i will use pigeon for communication rather then BTCL internet. bcoz if u dont please the line man god knows what will happen. moreover adsl is much weather effective.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Internet doesnt mean only download. its a communication system. whats your upload speed? think about sending a 30mb video to your girlfriend through EDGE network. then tell us about EDGE/gprs.it is impossible to get continuous 1 hour 26KBps from gp at day time. I have never seen such, not only gp but every edge network at bangladesh.

i have read all the blog. every 1 is complaining about download speed. i am confused is the internet for only download? what are they downloading? Songs? movies? porno? are they legal? some of them mentioned about video chat & complained about download speed for that. but mates u also need upload speed.

    @sillent killer.

if u need a pair of 8 inch shoes u will not buy a 10 inch shoes though they are at same price. will u? broadband means speed of more then 2mbps. but u think why u need it. if downloading is the only purpose go buy some cd/dvd instead of downloading. ur HDD will last long.

    Sorry if i am rude

    Augere launches wireless broadband today

Staff Correspondent Augere Wireless Broadband Bangladesh Ltd launches its operation today.
Augere chairman and chief executive officer Sanjiv Ahuja arrived in Dhaka on Sunday to host the inauguration, said a press release of the organisation.
Augere is the parent company of Augere Wireless Broadband Bangladesh Ltd which successfully won a WiMAX licence in BTRC’s auction held in October 2008. Augere has already invested over Tk 210 million in Bangladesh to provide comprehensive WIMAX coverage throughout the major cities in Bangladesh.
Augere currently has access to spectrum in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uganda.
Augere was established in September 2007 by an experienced team of global telecoms executives, with the vision to deliver ‘broadband for all.’ It uses global telecommunications experience and strong local partnerships to deliver an affordable, ‘real’ broadband service to under-served customers and communities through WiMAX.
WiMAX is a technology which provides wireless transmission of data using a variety of transmission modes, from point-to-multipoint links, up to portable and fully mobile internet access. The technology supports peak download rates of up to 46Mbps and peak uplink rates of up to 14 Mbps.
Sanjiv was also the former group chief executive of orange and chairman of orange UK and president of telcordia technologies. He spent over 15 years at IBM in various executive roles.

  170. You may try BTCL ADSL Broadband. BTCL has outsourced the service to a private company named EMEM Systems Limited. They are very much co-operative. I use PREPAID BB 1000 (1Mbps). I am satisfied enough. You may test it.

  171. Unbelievable Performance. I have purchased 1 Mbps connection from EMEM Systems Limited (The authorized partner of BTCL) , Price is only 2800tk/month. They have provided an ADSL2+ modem with 4 Ethernet Port. I have connected 4 PCs. I have just wondered.!!!Youtube is like TV!!!

  180. @ Sopa & Innocent Devil

"dude, the internet market in bd isnt big enough, wait for it grow and then you will automatically see prices fall, how many pc’s are there in bangladesh? i wonder why so many people are after speed? what are you going to do with so much speed?"

r u nuts? there are over 4 million people in bangladesh who uses internet. u think 4 million isn't big enough...?.....go to school

if u don't have the infrastructure how the services will come? so don't blame mass people who uses internet instead of nut head in so called service providers like wimax......

  181. recently btrc decreases their lease price up to 33%.
but i still haven't seen any price drop from the service providers who blames high cost of leasing as a barrier for low priced net connection...

  188. I use net in Sir Salimullah Medical College. I get downloading speed around 15KB at a cost of 460 tk/month. so why should i use wimax as they will provide me 16KB?
BTRC decreases the charge, so shouldn't we do something against our mobile operator to decrease their charge? please take some steps to do so who has the capability to do.

  190. @Ferdous just want to say you are very lucky and rich enough to spend that amount of money just for internet per month.but that doesn't mean a lot of people can afford that kind of price/money for 1Mbit connection.I have known people in Europe(much more richer than us) get 2 mega bits connection for around 10 Euros = 1000-1100 Bangladeshi taka per month.

so here in Bangladesh being much poorer than those European countries why would we pay 2800 taka=28-30 Euros for 1 megabits connection. It's just not fair and logical for BTRC to make bandwidth so pricey.it's their attitude(that submarine cable and it's bandwidth is like their bapper jomidari so they price the bandwidth as much as they wish) that's really preventing us internet users in Bangladesh from having fast and and low cost internet.

BTW do you know in Japan home users can get 100 megabits/sec dedicated internet connection for just 20 USA dollars per month.that's like 100 megabits for 1400 taka per month.so compare that and you will feel the pinch that what you are getting here in Bangladesh for that amount of money 2800 taka.:)

anyway enjoy your 2800 takar 1 megabit/per month connection XD

  192. yes, you are right, they are catlion.com. also first they missed their commitment. they said they provide their service 1st july 2009. but where.??? they....
    also they asking more price.
our near country like India, Pakistan, Srilanka provided Low price High Speed.
so, why catlion asking more Money?. 128kbps 600taka.
already Broadband 128kbps provide like 500 taka
some read Some people says, why we need Download speed. actually they don't know why we need download speed. they provided some example are are faltu example.
SOME DAY BEFORE. i'm talking one USA compaly about the job, but the company first requirements need minimum 2mbps. and I lost the work.

THATS WHY THE STUPID MAN. WE NEED SPEEDY CONNECTION
    got it???
    GOT IT?
